Allen Johnson

Allen Kenneth Johnson is a retired hurdling sportsperson and won Olympic Gold in the 110 metre high hurdles at the 1996 games in Atlanta, Georgia.

Born in Washington, D.C., an all-round athlete, Johnson attended University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and shine at high jump, long jump and decathlon as well as hurdles.

2003 in the Stade de France saw Johnson win his fourth IAAF World Championships in Athletics 110 m hurdles title when he beat Terrence Trammell into second to pass the three world championship gold medals that Greg Foster had won at the event.

At the 2004 Summer Olympics he tripped over a hurdle in the 2nd beginning round and was unable to conclude the race and reach the final. He was however ranked world's number 1 throughout 2004's season.

Johnson is trained by Curtis Frye, at the University of South Carolina where he serves as a volunteer assistant coach. He resides in Irmo, South Carolina.

Johnson was worried by injury in 2000 but still made the final at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia just absent out on adding to his medal collection by concluding fourth.

Michael Johnson

Michael Duane Johnson is a retired American sprinter. He won four Olympic gold medals and eight world championship gold medals. Johnson at present holds the world and Olympic records in the 400 m and 4 x 400 meters relay. He previously held the world and Olympic record in the 200 m, and the world record in the Indoor 400 m.

He also presently holds the world's best time at the 300 m. His 200 m time of 19.32 at the 1996 Summer Olympics stood as the record for over 12 years. Johnson is usually considered one of the greatest long sprinters in the history of track and field.

He is the only male sportsperson in history to win both the 200 m and 400 m events at the same Olympics, a feat he expert at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Johnson is also the only man to successfully defend his Olympic title in the 400 m. Aside from his Olympic success Johnson accumulated eight gold medals at World Championships, and is thus tied with Carl Lewis for the most gold medals won by any runner in history.

Kenenisa Bekele is an Ethiopian long-distance runner, who holds the world record and Olympic record in equally the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres events. Kenenisa has faced his adviser Haile Gebrselassie once in road contest, once in cross country, and six times on the track. Haile defeated Kenenisa on the track in the 2000 Nurnberg 5000 metres, the 2001 Great Ethiopian Run 10 km, and the Cross de l'Acier in December 2001, but lost to Kenenisa in Hengelo 2003 over 10,000 m (26:53 to 26:54), Rome 2003 over 5000 m (12:57 to 13:00), Paris 2003 World Championships over 10,000 m (26:49 to 26:50), Athens 2004 Olympic Games (27:05 to 27:27), and in the 10,000 m in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (27:01 to 27:06).
